"I was born in 1970 in outside of Atlanta, Georgia. My family moved back to my mother's hometown of Andalusia when I was one year old. After graduating from Andalusia High School and Birmingham-Southern College, I spent most of my twenties in the Florida Keys learning about boating, teaching snorkeling, and most importantly learning for the first time how to "be" after always being pushed (mostly by my inner Nazi, as I call it) to do, do, do. From many wise old souls who inhabit the Florida Keys, I learned the importance of a Zen way of life. Life in the Keys can be spartan due to the high cost of living, relatively low wages and small amount of land and living space available. So, people learn to live and be happy with less 'stuff' while weaving a rich tapestry of inner experiences and exploration. I studied classical ballet up through college and have always appreciated the lessons I learned early about fitness, balance, nutrition, artistic expression and discipline. |

"My adventures in healing and wellness (I consider it my master's degree from the school of hard knocks) began with a divorce from my first husband. I had so much pent-up emotion, my body finally put it to me to speak up or check out. I was so young and knew I had a lot of work to do, so I had to figure out how to claim my emotions and how to express them in a healthy way. "I worked with my first healer, Salandrea, who put me on a macrobiotic diet, fresh raw juices and some awesome herbs and supplements. The results were fantastic - I was hooked! "This began my obsessive exploration of alternative healing modalities, body-mind connection and energy studies. I currently also do healing work with animals specializing in acupressure for dogs and horses, nutrition based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, energy healing and intuitive animal communication.
